FAQ
Questions, answered straight.
The things people ask us most — about cost, monitoring, equipment and how we work.
How much does a security system cost?+
It depends on the size of the property and what you need covered. A typical home intrusion system with monitoring-ready equipment often lands in the low thousands installed; larger homes with cameras, access control or automation run higher. Every project starts with a free consultation and a written, itemized quote — you'll know exactly what you're paying for before we start.
Do you offer alarm monitoring? What does it cost?+
Yes. We offer 24/7 professional central-station monitoring over internet or over cellular with automatic failover. Cellular keeps working even if your internet or power is cut, which is why most clients choose it.
What's the difference between Ajax and DSC systems?+
Both are professional-grade. Ajax is a modern wireless platform — fast to install, beautiful hardware, excellent app experience. DSC is the industry workhorse with decades of proven hardwired reliability. We install both and will recommend whichever fits your property best; many homes end up with a hybrid.
Will the installation damage my walls?+
We take pride in clean work: concealed wiring wherever possible, careful drilling, and tidy patching of any access points. For finished homes we plan cable routes that minimize intrusion, and wireless options like Ajax need almost no wiring at all.
Can I control everything from my phone?+
Yes. Alarm arming, camera viewing, door locks, intercoms and automation scenes are all available from your phone with the Alarm.com or Ajax apps, depending on your system.
Do you service systems you didn't install?+
In most cases, yes — especially DSC and Alarm.com-based systems. Call us with your panel model and what's going wrong, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Which areas do you serve?+
We're based in British Columbia and serve all of Metro Vancouver, including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, West and North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Langley, Delta, White Rock and surrounding communities.
Do your systems work during a power or internet outage?+
Panels run on backup batteries during outages, and cellular communicators keep alarm signals flowing even when the internet is down. That's exactly what the cellular monitoring plan is designed for.
